Which home insurance company should I choose?
REEMPIRE888 asked:
I’m currently shopping for home insurance and I need some answers quickly. I currently have Allied Insurance and am thinking switching over to Western Mutual because of the cost for the policy. Anyone know the differences between the two and what’s the web site for checking reputations and so forth about an insurance company from the states i’ve living in??

Auto Club has good rates for car and home insurance.
Possible try: or bankrate.com (click on tab) on far right which is insurance. Good luck.
Make sure you check the insurance company’s credit rating ..Western Mutual is rated A- which is pretty good.
Amica consistently gets very good service ratings and is rated A++. Insurance is no good if the company is insolvent when you need them.
don’t choose the first one you come too call around. I’ve had homeowner ins for the past 15 yrs and to this day i never use it but the last 5 yrs it cost me $300+ per year
Do the Shopping CALL AROUND
Try Allstate. I got tons of discounts by having ADT security installed. Plus you gotta ask different companies about discounts from being a part of certain organizations. I did and got further discounts.
Here is a web site that will help you shop. You can request competitive quotes from several insurance companies. No cost, no obligation.
Good luck!
U can compare rates here they r the best i think in the industry,

i don’t know what state you live in however, you can check out ratings from your states department of insurance…at least some states have that..
also google opinion of___________ and see if anything pops up…
Make sure you check the policy. We just signed a contract with a company in our agency. We asked a lot of questions and were satisfied. After signing the contract, I read their policy. There is no way that I am going to place any business with this company. You need to read the policy and see what you are getting.
Ex. Some companies offer backup of sewer and drains coverage. You pick and amount and assume you are insured for that amount. Some companies will only cover you if it is sewage that backs up. Some companies will only cover you if you have drain tile around your house. Don’t go for the cheapest. Check out the company and also the policy.
Ask the agent “Would you insure your house with this company?”
I would never write any home with a company that I would not insure my own home with.
