I work for an insurance company in California. If your property is in California, I might be able to help you.
    Let me know.

    Thanks and good luck

It is important to know what state your in.

What does C-Map cover. I have never heard of it so I don’t think your in California. Please post what state you in.

That umbrella doesn’t protect the house, you know that, right? Only your PERSONAL liabiltiy. And it will have a $300,000 deductible, or “underlying requirement”.

If the issue is coastal property, you REALLY should be working with a local, independent agent.

CMAP only insures your CONTENTS, not the building. That wrap around, covers your building, through the state FAIR plan, for Basic perils only.

It’s the absolute, minimum bare coverage you can possibly buy. Likely, it costs less than a homeowners policy. THATS BECAUSE IT DOESNT COVER MUCH. Fire, Lightening, Explosion. If an airplane hits your house, don’t look for coverage. If a tree hits your house, ditto. If it’s not fire, lightening, or explosion, don’t bother trying to file a claim.

If you have a carrier willing to write a homeowners policy on your house, and you don’t want to pay $2100, sell your house. Because you’re more likely to have a non fire, uncovered claim, than a covered one, on that policy.

You really, really need an agent to explain this to you. If you’re comparing a homeowners policy to a CMAP and wrap around, and asking which is the better deal, you are NOT equipped to compare coverages.

Home insurance covers lots of different things. I’m not familiar with all the fine print of my home policy, but my home insurance agent is always a phone call away. Try contacting your agent or a homeowners agent in your area. They should be able to assist you.
