How to get home insurance on a home that I just bought?

home insurance
Gezup hose down asked:

It was $8,600 but I still need home insurance on it. Do I need special insurance for my ghetto home? Also it is in a flood area.

~~It depends on the state your in and which company you go with. Just go through your phone book and get estimates from different agents. They will tell you what is required and what is extra for your area.~~

homeinsurance.awardspace.us – you can try this company. I personally have their home insurance cause it is cheapest in our area.

You don’t need “special” insurance, but you’re going to have a darned hard time finding a “normal” insurance company to write that house.

You probably need to find a Foremost agent near you – - they specialize in low value homes, rental homes, rowhouses, rentals, vacant properties, and ghettos. Accordingly, they’re more expensive.

You can get your flood insurance through the same agent – IF you want to. But in a flood zone, depending on how much building/contents coverage you want, the price of the flood insurance is going to NOT be cost effective, for a house you paid that little for.
