What home insurance policy do I need to take for my Town home ?

home insurance
johnpau2009 asked:

I got a new town home last week and the HOA (association) has a policy which I am hoping will cover the exterior and common area.

Now as a home owner within my home what policy do I need to get ?

1) Is there a standard townhome policy which most of the owners get ? if yes what policy is it ?

2) The home value is 225K, do I need to mention this number anywhere in the policy ?

Help me as I am new first time home buyer

Thanks in advance

Anyone know anything about sewer/drain backup systems and home owners insurance?

home insurance
Kim asked:

I just bought a house and my insurance agent told me to make sure and find out if the house has a sewer/drain backup system. Such as a sump pump. And if it doesnt then I think I’m “supposed” to get some extra “thing” on my home owners insurance to cover that. Anyone know anything about any of that????

Are HOME insurance premiums higher if you live near a small airport?

home insurance
Nicole T asked:

We are considering having a house built in a neighborhood that is near a small airport. There are only single engine planes and helicopters flying in and out of this airport and noise isn’t really an issue. I was wondering if home insurance for this house would be higher because of the location however. Does anybody know if this is true?

How much do you pay for your home owner’s insurance?

home insurance
Jeremy asked:

I am doing a survey and this would really be helpful for me.

Please let me know how much you pay for your home owner’s insurance.

If you pay monthly or yearly.

The location of your home.

The value of your home.

How big your home is.

If you have flood insurance.

And what you have as your deductable.
Will people please ignore the idiot that just wants points and answer my question.

How much do YOU pay for home owners insurance.

Meaning, with the choices that you made, with the house that you have, how much do you pay?
You guys are great!

Please keep the answers coming.
I really need the yearly rate.

I am doing a report.
I AM DOING A REPORT LIKE I SAID!

I cant understand why people just don’t answer the questions on this site.

That’s what this was made for.

Not for the other person to ask “Why did you ask that”.

I cannot understand this.

Home Insurance Claim due to Tornado damage: will insurance company agree to pay me instead of contractor?

home insurance
Independent_guy asked:

Hi, will the insurance company agree to pay me say $5,000 instead of paying the contractor directly, and allow me to hire someone else? How does it work technically? I get $5,000, then if I am able to find contractor I like for less say $4,000, I get to keep the rest!? (pls assume example of $5,000 is based on a quote insurance company got from a contractor) THANKS.
