Why does the premium drop when you add home insurance to an car insurance?
Mary B asked:
When one has car insurance alone, insurance companies state that if one is to also get home insurance from the same company, the sum of the two insurances will be less than the original car insurance alone… Why should insurance companies take less premium for providing more service?

How does paying home insurance from an escrow work?
Faerie S asked:
I am purchasing my first home, and getting quotes on home ins. How does it work if you decide to use your escrow account? Is this your home’s escrow account? I know you would need to bring your 1st years premium to closing, but just a little unsure of how this works. Would this mean I would not have a monthly payment to the ins. company? Newbie here, and need all the advice I can get!

castille_g asked:
I’m buying a house and at closing it states that I need I year of home owners insurance plus 2 months of reserve home owners insurance. On top of that I will have monthly payments which include the home insurance. Can anyone explain this to me? When do I get back even?
