When will the home insurance send us money?
musicashtyle284 asked:
It has been one month since our kitchen caught fire. Our cabinets are still here, black with smoke marks and all that. We got a stove (with our money) because we couldn’t keep eating out. We still need new cabinets so we can actually use them? When are we supposed to get the money for repairs?

Is it better to file home insurance claims seperate or just one claim?
Mariobro1 asked:
My home sustained some damaged due to a snow fall back in december. I didn’t file a claim back then and now that I got some shingles damaged due to strong wind i would like to file a claim. I was told that i might need to file 2 seperate claims. Would it make a big difference if i put it all under just one claim instead of filing 2 seperate ones?

home owners insurance claims and doing repairs yourself?
donna s asked:
I would like any information regarding submitting receipts for repairs that need to be done to my home. I have a large deductable and the repair expenses go beyond the claim payment. Can I hire a handy man or do the work myself? What documentation do I need to provide my insurance company as proof that the work is completed.
