If you have home owners insurance, is it normal procedure for the insurance company to tell you you have to redo your garage roof or they cant insure you, and will they be responsible for some of the payment?

can your home owners insurance cancel you after you file a claim?

Lil Margo asked:

We filed a claim When we had a bad storm and lighting hit our storage building, it burned to the ground. It was a total lost. About a month later we received a letter from our agent stating that the company would not write the policy and gave us no reason as to WHY? They did pay half on the building and half on the contents of what it cost us to build back. This was due to an act of God. Can they cancel on us???

Priyanka asked:

When buying a Home Owners Insurance, what is the best approach…. Keeping Higher Deductible or Higher Premium?

Whether it is wise to have deductible $500/$1000 instead of paying 1% or 2% or the dwelling cost and paying higher premium every year or…. keeping deductible 1% - 2% - 3% and paying less premium every year?

I have a main wall in my house that over time hase become week due to high winds. I can actually see the wall move, i have a big moon window and a ***** going done. I have folks out who hae told me that my house is level. My question is, is this something that is covered by homeowners insurance?
talked with my insurance agent, as long as it is not foundation (which it has been looked at by a foundation company who said the house was level) then it would be covered.

does home owners insurance cover water damage?

djfinger2002 asked:

My toilet water valve broke and leaked throughout the floor.
I had a friend come over and check out the damage and he said that the floor needs to be replaced becuase it is about to fall through. The water soaked through the floor and damaged the downstairs apartments ceilings. Their ceiling is now falling down and needs to be replaced as well. Will home owners insurance cover this?
The friend never made a repair he just said that the floor needs to be replaced.
Also, its not an apartment i live in a duplex shared with my aunt. It is her toliet that ruined my ceiling in the bathroom.
